A native of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, Ivan Kozlov is an astounding male dancer of superb technical ability, who danced alongside the Kirov principal Ulyana Lopatkina.
In 2000 Ivan graduated from the Kiev State School of Dance (class of Vladimir Denisenko) and was engaged the same year as a soloist with the St Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre directed by Boris Eifman.
Ivan is a prize-winner and laureate of the X International Ballet Soloists‘ Competition in Moscow (2005), the VIII Ballet Stars International Festival in Jurmala (Boris Eifman’s Tsarevich Pavel), the Golden Mask festival (Karenin in Boris Eifman‘s Anna Karenina), as well as a diplomante at the VI International Serge Lifar Competition in Kiev (2006).
From 2002 to 2004 Ivan Kozlov was a guest soloist with International Ballet Theatre (USA). He then joined the National Opera of Ukraine Ballet as a soloist. Shortly after that he returned to Boris Eifman‘s St Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre.
In 2007 Ivan was invited to join the Mariinsky Ballet Company, making his debut as Siegfried in Swan Lake.
Ivan Kozlov is a principal at the Russian Grand Ballet theatre starting 2012.
